Miracle Whip

I am proud of myself. I have not been real good about being frugal until I found this site.
Oh, I was frugal when I was poor, but now I am, because I want to be.
My husband was making tuna salad and ran out of miracle whip, so he got out a new jar. (I always try to have 2 of everything)
Then I put miracle whip on my grocery list to get last week. It was $3.32 so I decided not to buy it. I wrote the price down, determined to check it every week.
After all, one jar will probably last for months, we don't eat many sandwiches.
I just got back from shopping and that same brand was on sale for $1.99 today.
I saved $1.33 and I am so proud! (Maybe I should go back and get another??)

Anyway, I saved $6 in grocery money which I will add to my challenge.

    Good job. It really is little things like that, or overspending on entertainment that adds up. I sat down last night by myself, and did a preliminary outline of our family expenses and discovered that our family tends to over spend on renting/buying DVD's and VHS's. So I have started a special savings jar labeled Entertainment Funds and work on getting the entire family to contribute to it even if it's only 50 cents per person.

    Yep. And what really made it work out was having the second jar of mayonaisse, which allowed you to be patient.

    Oh yes - you better get another jar! Having both the heir and the spare for cheap is doubly good.

    Get another jar of Miracle Whip only if the use by date is OK for another year or wait for next time it's on special then buy another one! Here it's about every 8 weeks or so between specials.
