I am over 70, but still feel like I am just 7. I love to go dancing with my wonderful husband of almost 40 years.Since we have never earned a lot of money, we have learned to take care of what we have. We live in the mountains in north georgia in a big beautiful house that my husband build and it is mortgage free. Now I am trying to save so my "younger" husband can retire someday.
I wish, we checked out some clearnance racks, but nothing good yet. I actually think we may aim for experiences, taking the nieces and nepews to plays or hockey games rather than 'stuff' but I don't know if we can do it frugally enough .
90% of all my Christmas shopping is done!! I got everthing from 50 - 75% off. They are even wrapped and placed in boxes ready to mail out! I have cut back a lot, but when I shop like this I spend so much less! Last year I got several gift cards for free ($50.00 for Boston Chicken, a $25.00 for CVS and a $25.00 for Burdines) so I gave these out to friends and family--they helped a lot!
My neice and nephew are done, and also the $10 gifts we use in DH's family gift grab. It's nice to have those done, at least. I went to Target when they had 75% and 90% off sales after last Christmas.
I love to shop all year-at thrift stores, goodwill etc. I have my cards for Christmas and valentines that I got at Goodwill still in the packages.I try to find good recycled items all year for my son's teacher's, scout leaders, etc. Last year at Christmas we REGIFTED. It went great for everyone except the one w/ the least money to spend! Go figure !
I have md gift bags, cloth napkins, rice bags for heating pads, afghans,a cloth holder to place on your chair arm to hold your remote, glasses etc.
Plan to mk a hanging bag to put grocery plastic bags in.
I belong to seed swap sites and get lots of gifts this way.
